Our Education Programmes

Barnardos Well-Being Programme

Our Well-Being education programme addresses the issue of Well-Being in children. It looks at the importance of good emotional and physical Well-Being and addresses the factors which present a challenge in achieving this. A focus on children’s needs and rights forms the core of this programme. Using examples of Barnardos work, this programme is designed to get students thinking about Well-Being and encourages them to take action.

Bullying/Cyberbullying talks for Students & Parents

We deliver talks to both parents and students on the issue of Bullying and Cyberbullying. This is a growing area of concern for parents, teachers and students alike. However, equipped with up to date information, you can ensure you are fully informed. Such a programme would be suitable for the junior and senior cycle.

Rights education workshops

Rights and their understanding is covered in the CSPE curriculum and culminates with an Action Project which often addresses themes of Children’s Rights, abuse and social justice. Barnardos emphasis on Advocacy and children’s rights is covered in this presentation and gives students an up-to-date overview of current issues in the area as well as providing useful resource links for further information.

Young Social Innovators (YSI) support

Students in Transition Year who are considering entering the Young Social Innovators competition may benefit particularly if the topic they choose is around children’s rights. We could help in presenting the issue to them and directing them to relevant resources.
