Colgate Keeps Barnardos and Ireland Smiling!

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new charity partnership with Colgate Palmolive. We will be working with Colgate around a programme of staff fundraising activities; and the Keep Ireland Smiling campaign, which involves a donation being made to Barnardos for every new Like on the Colgate Ireland Facebook page. Interactive Roadshows will also be taking place at a number of Ireland’s busiest shopping centres as a part of the campaign, presenting an exciting opportunity for families and friends to come along and get snapped at Colgate’s pop-up photography studio. Donate your unwanted vouchers to Barnardos in Tesco stores!
Shoppers can support Barnardos, by donating their unwanted Tesco for Schools and Clubs vouchers. Special Barnardos boxes will be available
in all 137 Tesco stores nationwide during
Easter week (9th to the 15th April) and for every
voucher donated, Tesco has committed to give 2c to Barnardos with a minimum
guaranteed donation of €10,000. Millions of vouchers are given to customers
daily as part of the Tesco for Schools
and Clubs scheme, which runs from 12 March to 20th May.
Customers will receive one Tesco for Schools and Clubs voucher for every €10
spent in stores during this period.

Tesco and Dettol have teamed up to support Barnardos!
Help us raise €150,000 for Barnardos by sending a small donation via SMS. All texters will be entered in a draw to win tickets to the Pregnancy & Baby Fair!

Barnardos receives donation from Hospital Saturday Fund
Barnardos was the beneficiary of a donation from the charity, The Hospital Saturday Fund, at a special event in the Mansion House in Dublin recently.
Pictured at the event was Elaine Deignan, Corporate Fundraising Executive, receiving the donation on behalf of Barnardos from The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Andrew Montague, Vice-President of the Hospital Saturday Fund.The donation from the Hospital Saturday Fund will help to support Barnardos Special Needs Service.
In 2011, the Hospital Saturday Fund gave €550,000 in donations and grants to medical charities for care and research, hospices and hospitals across Ireland and the UK. The charity’s trading company, HSF Health Plan has been operating in Ireland for over 60 years and gives away its profits each year to charity.
Little Helper Trolleys raise a very large donation!
Emma and Barry from Addgards Ltd presented us with an amazing donation of over €10,000 from their Little Helper Trolleys for Barnardos!
Addgards have been supporting Barnardos since 2010 with their Little Helper trolleys located in supermarkets all across the country. This donation marks then end of this very successful partnership and we are so grateful for their support over the past two years. Overall the Little Helper trolleys have managed to raise over €20,000 for Barnardos.
So to everyone who has used a little helper trolley and donated to Barnardos, thank you so much!
Airtricity Clean Up
A big thank you to our fantastic Airtricity Volunteers who lent a hand in January to help brighten up our Barnardos centre in Tallaght, by painting it from top to bottom!
It's now so much more welcoming for the children and families to come to. Thank you so much Airtricity!
Barnardos is Folens Charity of Choice!
We are delighted to announce that Folens, Ireland’s leading educational publisher, has chosen Barnardos as their charity of choice and will be donating funds in support of Barnardos Best Choice programmes for the next three years. The Best Choice programme provides services for children and young people aged 13-18 years, focusing on learning and development outcomes and emotional well-being outcomes. The programme also helps children understand the importance of education and continuing with school. In addition to this financial support, Folens are also providing children’s reading packs for our Barnardos centres nationwide and their staff will be engaged in a variety of fundraising and volunteering activities over the coming months. We look forward to working with Folens on all aspects of this relationship!
Tag Rugby Tournament – 15th March 2012
To acknowledge the work undertaken by all the Office Hero companies and everyone who has donated to Barnardos, there will be a celebratory event on Thursday 15th March 2012 - a Tag Rugby Tournament!

Teams: 12 players on one team, teams of less than 12 can be joined with another team

Service Source team get behind Barnardos!
We were delighted to receive a fantastic donation of €2,100
from the Service Source ‘Power Source’ team in their Sandyford office. All of the staff got involved in our 2fm Dress Up for Barnardos
campaign and had great fun on Friday 28th of October dressing up and
by organising a cake sale.
Thank you to all of the staff and Power Source team for getting involved and we look forward to you working with you on lots of other fun initiatives in the months ahead!

We’re delighted to announce that we will be working with Basecamp, the
outdoor equipment stores, to raise funds in support of Barnardos services
through the sale of their Yaktrax product.
During the winter months, pick up a pair of these handy anti-slip covers for your shoes and not only could you save yourself from a nasty fall, you’ll be helping to support Barnardos!
Dettol Mission for Health
Dettol and Reckitt Benckiser Ireland have launched their Mission for Help campaign and have selected Barnardos as their charity of choice in Ireland. Funds raised through the Dettol Mission for Health campaign will go directly towards supporting Barnardos early years services which work with vulnerable children aged 0 to 4 years, to give them the best start in life by supporting their healthy emotional development and establishing a routine around schooling.
Barnardos receives €25,000 Grant from Newman's Own Foundation!
Barnardos is delighted to announce that we have received a €25,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation. The grant will go towards Barnardos Best Choice programmes in our Family Support projects nationwide. The grant was announced by Robert Forrester, president of Newman’s Own Foundation, at an event in The Westbury Hotel, Dublin, on Thursday 5th May. “We recognise the needs of communities, especially during these difficult economic times,” said Mr. Forrester. “Paul Newman was committed to helping make the world a better place. He believed in sharing his good fortune with those in need. We are proud to be able to continue his philanthropic legacy today and to assist the work of Barnardos.” For nearly twenty years, Paul and Newman’s Own Foundation have supported a diverse range of Irish charities.
The Westgrove Hotel
The Westgrove Hotel, Naas pledge to donate 50% of all bottled water sales to Barnardos
The Westgrove Hotel, Clane, Co Kildare has announced that Barnardos has been chosen as their designated charity on an ongoing basis. The 4* deluxe hotel has pledged to donate 50% of all bottled water sales to the Barnardos “Best Start” programme that focuses on giving vulnerable children under 4 years of age the best opportunities to develop their future. The Westgrove will also provide a venue for events and partner on fundraising initiatives to raise much needed funds for the children’s charity.
BabyBay.ie
Barnardos is delighted to partner with BabyBay.ie, a fantastic website where parents and parents-to-be can buy and sell new and used baby clothes and goods online. Babybay is now expanding with a new way for people to recycle their baby goods at The Baby Bay Markets that will take place around the country. Admission costs €3 (kids go free) and €1 from the admission fee will go directly to Barnardos. The first Market will take place on 10th June at the Glenroyal Hotel Maynooth.
