The Insurance Institute of Ireland 'Office Heroes' Programme
Through a programme of fundraising activities and events amongst its membership, it is the goal of The Insurance Institute of Ireland to raise a minimum of €50,000 this year, in support of Barnardos work with vulnerable children.
About the partnership...
Members of the Insurance Institute of Ireland are being asked to support the partnership by participating as ‘Office Heroes for Barnardos’. We are asking that each member organisation nominate a small team of staff who, with the aid of Barnardos Fundraising Team, will champion fundraising activities in the workplace.

Chartis Insurance FUNdraising
Well done to all the staff at Chartis Insurance Ireland
who have really gotten behind the Office Heroes initiative this year and have
been organising lots of FUNdraising activities over the last few months. From Jersey
Days in the office to a staff Table Quiz, the Chartis Office Heroes have really
pulled out all the stops and have made a huge effort in support of Barnardos.

Travelers Dress Up for Barnardos
The staff of Travelers Insurance
Company took part in the 2FM Dress Up for Barnardos day to support the
Insurance Institute of Ireland’s Office Heroes initiative. The office was
a colourful place with all the staff taking part and €500 was collected on the
day.
They had Snow White, Darth Vader, Minnie Mouse, The Grim Reaper, Cruella de Vil, a number of Elvis’, Austin Powers, The Pink Ladies and a T-Bird and Rocky, to name but a few! And there were prizes for the best costumes and all the staff got together for Halloween treats for elevenses. A great day was had by all and in doing so helped raise vital funds for Barnardos.
Dublin City Marathon
Congratulations to Brian Phelan,
Andrew Warren and Brendan Little for completing the challenging 26km Dublin
City Marathon. A lot of hard work and fundraising was undertaken by the lads
and they deserve a huge well done for this achievement, and for raising so much
money for Barnardos.
And Good luck to Deirdre Moore at ACE Europe who will be braving the wind and the rain and running 10k in the Phoenix Park race, with all funds raised going to Barnardos.
Upcoming Events
Tag Rugby Tournament – 15th March 2012
To acknowledge the work undertaken by all the Office Hero companies and everyone who has donated to Barnardos, there will be a celebratory event on Thursday 15th March 2012 in the form of a Tag Rugby Tournament.
Taking part will raise funds for Barnardos and there will be prizes for ‘Best Support Team’ and ‘Best Jersey’. So come on down whether to take part or just support your colleagues, it is a great staff outing and networking event with all donations going to Barnardos.
Event Details
Event: Tag Rugby Tournament
Teams: 12 players on one team, teams less that 12 can be joined with another team
Venue: St. Mary’s College RFC, Templeville Road, Templeogue, Dublin 6W
Date: Thursday 15th March 2012
Time: Approx 6.30pm (registration 5.30pm)
Cost: €300 for Office Hero Companies
€400 for participating companies
Price includes food and drink voucher for the BBQ.
Friends, family and colleagues are encouraged to come and support the teams. By paying €15 they will be issued with a food and drink voucher for the BBQ after the tournament, and all the ticket money will be going to Barnardos.

Christmas
Christmas is fast approaching and the Office Hero companies are doing their part to raise much needed funds for Barnardos and spread the Christmas cheer.
RSA Insurance are taking part in the Barnardos Teddy Bear Raffle this Christmas where they will be selling raffle tickets, with one lucky winner being in with a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas. The staff of RSA are also organising a Carol Singing group in Dundrum Town Centre on Dec 15th with proceeds going to Barnardos, so come down and enjoy the sing song and donate if you can.
Over the coming few weeks RSA Insurance are also holding a staff fair and staff mass, where proceeds will be donated to Barnardos to help raise funds for those that need it this Christmas.
FBD Insurance are running a Christmas raffle with proceeds being donated to Barnardos. They will be selling tickets to staff, family and friends, getting everyone involved this Christmas by raising funds for Barnardos, while having some fun as well.
Willis and ACE Europe will be holding the popular Casual Days, with all contributions from staff going towards to Barnardos.
And The Insurance Institute of Ireland will be home to numerous Santa Claus', Mrs. Claus's, and elves for one day on the 16th December. Staff will dress up as Santa for the day, with all proceeds raised going to Barnardos. III Staff will also have a toy appeal for all the children in the Barnardos projects.
