Vetting of Barnardos staff

As Barnardos works with vulnerable children and families, checks will be made to make sure that anyone who might pose a risk to children is not appointed. All applicants either in a paid or unpaid capacity will be required to complete a Garda Vetting Form requesting a statement that there are no convictions recorded against you in the Republic of Ireland or elsewhere, or a statement of all prosecutions successful or unsuccessful, pending or completed in the State or elsewhere as the case may be.

It is not possible for the Garda Central Vetting Unit to check addresses outside of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Other arrangements are in place for obtaining clearance for UK addresses and successful applicants will be required to complete the necessary enquiry forms. Applicants who have lived or worked outside these areas will be required to provide Barnardos with an original copy of an up to date police records check carried out in all countries where you have resided.

It is part of our policy to request proof of ID to verify details provided on Garda Vetting and police records checks. Full instructions on completing the Garda Vetting Form are included with all vacancies advertised on this website.
