Become a Member
Barnardos’ Training and Resource Service is a unique resource, which provides information, training and publications on anything to do with children and families. A membership scheme is available for those who wish to borrow library resources and avail of the other benefits of membership.
These include:
- Borrowing rights - members can borrow up to four items for three weeks with the option to renew
- Journals - access to a wide range of child-related journals (link to journals listing) and the facility to request journal articles from other libraries.
- Database and Internet Searches –subject specific literature searches by information professionals.
Members have remote access to the following databases:- Child Data - an online resource of the National Children’s Bureau UK providing information on the care, education, health and welfare of children and young people.
- IDOX – UK database containing resources relating to local government, families and community issues.
- Personalised service - research assistance is provided. Free mailing facilities for members.
- Childcare eNews - a regular update emailed to you about recent developments within the area of childcare and child related issues
- Daily Digest - an emailed compilation of relevant on-line newspaper articles on child and family issues.
- Discounts - 10% discount on all public training events and on all Barnardos publications.
Membership fees
For one year, the fees are as follows:

| Unwaged | €25.00 |
| Student | €50.00 |
| Corporate | €50.00 (per person for teams of three members or more) |
