Myles, Ph.D.
Brenda Smith Myles is consultant for the Ohio Center for Autism and Low
Incidence, serves as co-chair of the National ASD Teacher Standards Committee
and sat on the National Institute of Mental Health's Interagency Autism
Coordinating Committee's Strategic Planning Consortium. She is also on the
executive boards of several organisations including the Organization for Autism
research, ASTEP - Asperger Syndrome Training and Educational Program, and the
Education and Treatment Services Project for Military-Dependent Children with
Autism.
Brenda is the recipient of several professional awards and accolades and, in the latest survey conducted by the University of Texas, was acknowledged as the second-most productive applied researcher into ASD in the world. Brenda has made over 500 presentations around the world and has written over 150 articles and books on ASD including Asperger Syndrome

From Child Poverty to Child Well-Being: Research and Policy Conference

The Department of Social Protection, the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and the Children’s Research Centre are co-hosting this one day conference to explore current research and policy responses for addressing child poverty and well-being in Ireland.
The conference will examine recent findings from national research on childhood deprivation in Ireland and from the Growing up in Ireland national longitudinal survey of children in Ireland. It will provide an overview of current European and Irish policy responses to child poverty and well-being and the importance of evaluation and innovation to drive policy responses. The conference will also examine specific interventions to draw out possible policy lessons for the future.
