Barnardos 2011 Presidential Debate
Presidential Candidates Mary Davis, Sean Gallagher, Michael D. Higgins, Martin McGuinness, Gay Mitchell and David Norris took part in the Barnardos’ Presidential Candidates Debate in the Chester Beatty Library on 12 October 2011. During the debate all candidates expressed vigorous support for the Referendum to strengthen children’s rights in the Irish Constitution and urged Government to ensure the Referendum will take place in 2012.
