All the latest Barnardos news direct to your email
By donating to our shops, volunteering for as little as four hours per week in one of our shops, or bagging a bargain, you are making an important contribution to our work. You are helping Barnardos achieve our vision. A vision to make Ireland the best place in the world to be a child.
Every euro spent in a Barnardos shop goes to help vulnerable children in Ireland. Our charity shops survive on the generosity of individuals who donate their second-hand and brand new goods for re-sale.
You can contribute by either dropping your donated goods directly into one of our shops, or by filling one of our plastic bags when it is delivered to your house, which will be collected from your front door. Please look out for the Irish Charity Shops Association logo on all our bags. Our drivers carry Barnardos identification and our collection vans are clearly marked with the Barnardos logo.
We regret that we are not able to collect individual items or donations, and under new European legislation there are some items we can no longer sell such as electrical goods, safety equipment and various children's items.
Our shops rely on the support and enthusiasm of our committed team of volunteers. They ensure that all the goods for sale in our shops are presented in the best way. They offer advice for shoppers, a friendly welcome and help the shops run smoothly.
If you can give as little as four hours a week to Barnardos please talk to the manager in the shop nearest to you or click here to find out if there are any volunteer positions currently available.
Barnardos supports children whose well-being is under threat, by working with them, their families and communities and by campaigning for the rights of children. Barnardos was established in Ireland in 1962 and is Ireland's leading independent children's charity.
