Make a corporate donation

More than 76,000 children in Ireland live in consistent poverty. That means the sort of poverty that results in inadequate nutrition, clothing and heating, poor healthcare and few educational choices. Many of the children who are brought up in this situation end up in serious trouble. At Barnardos we see the effects poverty has on children every single day. We work face-to-face, day-to-day with the most vulnerable children, making real tangible improvements to their lives. Donations from your company are vital to continued success with children all over Ireland.

Other ways you can make a donation

We have a number of ongoing corporate giving projects that your company and your staff can get involved with.

Corporate Danone Big Toddle for Barnardos

Organise a family day at work and get involved with the 2009 Danone Big Toddle for Barnardos. This is a short sponsored walk, under half a mile, for children of all ages.

We have had great fun and success when businesses have opened up their workplaces to a visit from their staff's children and arranging a toddle. Their tiny steps make a big difference to the lives of vulnerable toddlers receiving support from Barnardos. Click here to find out more.

Dublin Bus receipt tickets

Did it ever occur to you that you could be throwing away real money - and lots of it?

As much as €750,000 a year is going into bins across the county. Barnardos has been collecting Dublin Bus tickets for many years and exchanging them for money. Collect all the change tickets you can by setting up collection boxes in your office or by organising internal collections and send them to us at Barnardos, Christchurch Square, Dublin 8.

Payroll giving

Payroll giving encourages members of staff to give regularly through their pay cheque. It's simple - voluntary donations are deducted from your staff members' salary every week or month by the payroll department at your company. The company then forwards the proceeds to Barnardos.

Staff members decide how much they wish to donate and staff who make donations to Barnardos can go even further. Donations of €250 or over a year (that's just €21 a month or €4.85 a week) are now eligible for tax relief under the 2001 Finance Act.

Payroll giving is an important source of fundraising for Barnardos and is used to support the services that we provide. As each company has its own financial systems, it is best to contact us for more information on payroll giving.

Mobile phone and toner recycling

All used ink-jet cartridges and mobile phones are valuable! Barnardos recycles used inkjet and toner cartridges from printers, as well as old mobile phones and chargers. We are currently working in partnership with Redeem Plc. and Kavanagh Environmental who give us a donation for every reusable cartridge and phone collected. Contact us for more details and a free collection box, or log on to www.recyclingappeal.ie/barnardos and www.kavenc.ie for further information.

Donate products and services

Can your business provide stock for our Barnardos shops, located nationwide? Barnardos is the first in the charity shop sector to offer a service called Brand New. Click here to find out more about this service and feel free to contact us for more information on how you could help our shops.
