2012 marks 50 years of Barnardos working and helping families and children in Ireland. To begin our celebrations we hosted the Children at the Centre: The Future for Child Welfare and Protection in Ireland conference. The aim of the conference was to influence the change presently happening within the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and the HSE by promoting a more coherent and accountable system that will lead to improved delivery of service provision at community level whilst consistently complying with national standards and policies.
