Workshop: Adopted Teenagers and Young Adults - Feelings and Identity
An information and
support meeting for parents who have adopted children in Ireland or overseas. This
meeting is also open to professionals.

This workshop will focus on the feelings of teenagers and young adults about growing up adopted, identity and loss, and search and reunion with birth parents.
The meeting will be facilitated by Michael Candon together with staff with Barnardos Post Adoption Service. Michael is a practicing psychotherapist based in Dublin and Meath. He has extensive experience in counselling adopted teenagers and adults. Barnardos Post Adoption Service staff have been providing services to adoptive and birth family members for many years.
Michael is also an adopted adult himself who has experience of contact with his birth family. Michael’s personal and professional experience will be of great interest to parents and professionals.
