Join us for an insightful webinar on the updated Aistear framework. This session will delve into the importance of all transitions for babies, toddlers, and young children and how the updated framework, together with the Guidance for Good Practice, supports these transitions. Early years educators will gain valuable insights to enhance their understanding of these updates before official implementation of the updated Aistear in September 2025.

Presenting on the night ..

Donna Carolan – Acting Director, Curriculum and Assessment, NCCA

With responsibility for both early childhood and primary education developments, Donna brings a wealth of knowledge to this webinar. She will discuss the importance of all transitions for babies, toddlers and young children in early childhood, as well as the move to primary school.

Dr Sharon Skehill – Education Officer, NCCA

Sharon has been involved in the updating of Aistear since 2022, bringing her knowledge and experience from working with babies, toddlers and young children in practice, as well as from a research and teaching perspective.

Marion Kearney – Project Co-ordinator, Barnardos Brighter Futures

Marion has been working with Barnardos for 12 years. Marion brings a wealth of experience and knowledge working directly with children between the ages of 2- 6 along with their parents/ caregivers. With the responsibility of ensuring the co-ordination, delivery and development of Brighter Futures Early years’ service for the past 4 years.

Marion will discuss the significance of the transition to primary school, the importance of relationships and share some examples of resources and transition plans created by the team at Barnardos Brighter Futures to support children and families during this time.
