Who should attend: Parents of adopted children/teenagers. The aim of the workshop is to offer support in developing a good understanding of the truth about their children's birth.

This workshop is designed to support parents with the sometime very challenging task of helping adopted children and teenagers develop a good understanding of the truth about their birth.

During the workshop, the following areas will be discussed:

  • Challenges of talking to your child or teenager about difficult or absent information
  • Identity development in adopted children and teenagers
  • Life books, boxes and maps
  • Thinking about homeland visits
  • Considering search for birth parents
  • Managing contact with birth parents
  • Issues for separately adopted birth siblings
