This workshop is designed to support parents with the sometime very challenging task of helping adopted children and teenagers develop a good understanding of the truth about their birth.
During the workshop the following areas will be discussed:
Challenges of talking to your child or teenager about difficult or absent information
Identity development in adopted children and teenagers
Life books, boxes and maps
Thinking about homeland visits
Considering search for birth parents
Managing contact with birth parents
Issues for separately adopted birth siblings.
