Facilitators: Andrew Walker together with a young adult, adopted from Kazakhstan.

Barnardos post adoption service have been working with intercountry adopted families since 2007 and more generally with adopted people since the 1970s.

We are delighted to offer an evening webinar for adults (over 18) adopted from abroad. The facilitator Andrew Walker is a very experienced Post Adoption staff member who has worked with many people adopted from abroad. A young adopted adult has most kindly agreed to talk about her experiences of adoption and contact with her birth family. We hope to provide a supportive and worthwhile experience to intercountry adopted adults.

The webinar will be managed confidentially but will allow people to ask questions. We will also use interactive polls to gather some feedback and perhaps highlight some common issues.

Webinar topics:

  • Intercountry adoption in Ireland- the big picture
  • What we have learned about the experiences of children and young people adopted from abroad
  • Thinking about birth country and birth family
  • What to do if you need support

Please mail the Post Adoption Team at [email protected] for more information

Please note - only booking for one person at a time. Multiple adopted adults from the same household may attend but please register separately.
