For young adopted adults aged 18-26, adopted from overseas to Ireland (not open to parents or professionals). Facilitated by Christine Hennessey, Project Leader with Barnardos Post Adoption Service.

We held our first online meet up for young intercountry adopted adults in 2020 and it was really well received by those who attended.

We are planning to hold these meetings from time to time to:

  • Give young people (aged 18-26 years old) a chance to meet up with others under friendly and experienced professional guidance
  • Share common experiences and feelings about being adopted
  • Answer questions that participants might have about exploring birth information and visiting birth country
  • Discuss issues around search for birth family - how to prepare, what to consider, when is a good time, the possible impact on you
  • Give everyone an opportunity to make ongoing links with others in the same situation
  • Provide information about ongoing supports

After you register, you will be sent a Zoom link for the event. Please ensure you have a secure and stable internet connection for the event.

This event is aimed at young adults (aged 18 - 26 years old), who have been adopted from outside of Ireland.

The event is free but donations are welcome.
