Dalkey Players win RTE All Ireland Drama Festival 2017
Dalkey Players are the overall winners of this year’s RTE All Ireland Drama Festival with their production of “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” by American playwright Sarah Ruhl. At the Awards ceremony in Athlone on Saturday night last, Dalkey also took several other awards including Best Director for Barnardos own Emma Jane Nulty, Best Actor, Dermot Byrne, Best Lighting, Barry Donaldson and Best Stage Management, Emma Mulligan with Maura Lavelle winning a scholarship to the Gormanston Annual Drama Summer School.
Festival adjudicator Geoff O’Keeffe praised Dalkey Player’s production for its staging, lighting, direction, costuming, soundscape and its ensemble acting adding that director Emma Jane Nulty had “heart, vision, a mastery of stage craft and excellent direction skills”. Emma Jane Nulty

"Dead Man's Cell Phone" will be staged for its final performance this Saturday 20th May in The Mill Theatre Dundrum at 8 pm. Donations from the performance will go to Barnardos and Children's Hospital Ireland. See www.milltheatre.ie for booking.
