Seven year old Ayla helps make Christmas bright for Barnardos

"I know that I can a make a difference, even if I am just a kid. I think that most people are good, we just need to try harder to help".

Seven year old Ayla wanted to do something special this Christmas for children and families who needed a little bit of extra help. Ayla wanted to raise funds to purchase computer tablets for children Barnardos work with to help make their Christmas a little brighter. With the help of her Mum, Ayla set up an online fundraising page and to their surprise quickly surpassed their original target. In total, Ayla raised an incredible €3,458!

Ayla, along with her Mum Doireann, visited Barnardos today with a special delivery of computer tablets for Christmas. The remaining funds will help to support children and families Barnardos work with through a range of practical supports and specialised services. 

Ayla's efforts will make a real difference to the vulnerable children and families Barnardos is working with not just this Christmas but long into the New Year. On behalf of everyone in Barnardos, we would like to wish Ayla and her family a very Happy Christmas.
