Programme Details

Parent Plus Programmes
Lifestart Supporting Parents’ staff are trained to deliver the Parents Plus Programme and we generally focus on the Early Years Programme, we also facilitate other programmes such as Parents Plus Children’s Programme and Parenting When Separated Programme.

Early Years Programme
The first 5 years of a child’s life are crucial. By supporting families during this early stage you can make a long term positive difference for children. Our Early Years programme is practical, solution-focused and draws on parents’ strengths and is suitable for parents of children aged 1 to 6 years, including young children with additional needs. It is flexible and can be delivered over 6-12 weeks in small groups or with individuals and more recently, online via Zoom for groups or individual sessions.

How it helps:

  • Help their children develop good attachments and relationships
  • Manage tantrums and misbehaviour
  • Build their children’s language and development
  • Reduce their own stress as parents
  • Help their children to concentrate and learn
  • Increase their children’s self-esteem
  • Establish positive daily routines

Shaping Our Selves & Our Children Programme
The programme aims to support parents of young children in Northern Ireland and the border region of the Republic of Ireland to create a home conducive to good child social and emotional development, inclusiveness and a respect for social and cultural diversity.
