After taking part in this training for trainers, participants will be able to: Plan, design and deliver a ten-week Positive Parenting Programme; Understand the theory behind the Positive Parenting Manual; Be familiar with a range of approaches for managing difficult behaviour in children while raising self-esteem when parenting alone; Support parents in implementing these approaches; Support parents to develop strong relationships with their children; Know the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; Support parents in parenting when they are: separating or divorcing, sharing parenting, parenting in a multicultural society, parenting alone; Support parents to talk to their children about their family situations; and Support families to parent trough difficult times.
After taking part in this training for trainers, participants will be able to: Plan, design and deliver a 6 to 12 week Family Communications Programme; Understand the theory behind the Family Communications Manual; Understand and coach parents in the principles of clear and direct communication in the home for problem solving; Support parents in implementing managing changes in the home; Support parents in parenting teenagers; Resource parents in creating a positive environment at home; Understand family diversity today; Support parents in parenting when they are: separating or divorcing, sharing parenting, parenting in a multicultural society; Resource parents to rebuild family life after a crisis; Support one-parent and separated families to encourage family pride and strong family identities.
The aim of the programme is to promote positive relationships between parents and children.
Understanding our response. Aims to support individuals about the importance of relationships within family and community and how compassion and understanding the intention of behaviour brigs about personal change sand conflict resolution.
The programme aims to support parents and their children to: Address challenging behaviour within the family environment; Increase the levels of effective communication between parents and their children; Develop a number of key parenting skills to support improved relationships with their children.
To develop and increase the resilience and reduce the risk factors for substance abuse in teens/young people. To improve the social competence, school performance in 12-16 year old young people. To strengthen the bond between the parent and child/teen. To enhance the parenting and coping skills of parents dealing with difficult family situations.
Triple P aims to promote positive caring relationships between children teenagers and their parents and to support parents in managing common behaviour and development issues through enhancing parents’ knowledge, skills and confidence. Younger Programme (2 – 10 years): Triple P teaches parents skills to encourage and support their child’s social and language skills, emotional self regulation, independence and problem solving skills. Teen Programme (11 – 15 years) Triple P teaches parents how to encourage emotional self regulation, how to support their teenager to develop the social skills to get along with others and to do well in school and community.Group work, One-to-one work, Triple P is delivered to groups of parents using active skills training through observation, discussion, practice and feedback on progress. The programme works at prevention, early intervention and intervention level for parents. Parents discuss and receive practical tips and advice about parenting skills that they can incorporate into their everyday interactions with their child/teenager.
Providing parenting support in a variety of models including: public seminars/talks, half day workshops, 3-6 week courses, 1 day weekend course and small group work.
Provide participants with an opportunity to update information on drugs and their effects. Explore attitudes and decisions related to substance misuse. Develop a family focused drug prevention strategy.
