Barnardos Children's Budget 2014

Barnardos launched its annual Children’s Budget ahead of Budget 2014. Through its four stories, it highlights the huge strain on families and children barely coping with the recession. Living on a daily basis where even putting a dinner on the table can be stressful, there is a strong sense of hopelessness and despair. The cumulative impact of cuts to welfare, services, wages and supports have left them terrified at what Budget 2014 could bring to them.

“The Government keep saying that this Budget is going to be another tough one and maybe after this one thing’s will get better but when you are living from hand to mouth you just don’t see light at the end of the tunnel. It’s awful that I can’t fix the situation for my children.”
