Barnardos' Library and Information Service provides membership of the physical library and access to its print resources to all Tusla staff nationally.

Tusla staff can register with the service using the link above or by visiting the library, without appointment, anytime from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

We are located in Barnardos' National Office at Christchurch Square, Dublin 8.

Tusla staff membership includes

  • Full borrowing rights to the library's physical (non-electronic) collection. The collection can be searched via the online catalogue.
    • Borrow up to 4 items at one time for a three-week period.
    • Request an item from the service by logging in and placing it 'on hold' via the online catalogue.
    • Requested items will be posted to members (postage cost included).
    • Returns can be made in person or via the stamped, self-addressed envelope provided.
    • Renew* items up to 5 times.
    • Request the acquisition of an item.
  • Monthly Library eUpdate
    • Registered members will recieve a monthly current awareness email from Barnardos Library & Information Service, with details of the latest resources in the library as well as links to other relevant reports relating to children and families.

  • Request articles from the library's journal collection via Inter-Library Loan.
    • Before requesting an article from Barnardos library, please check your access to subscriptions via the Tusla Research Office.
    • To request an article from the library, members must complete the Inter-Library Loan and Copyright Declaration and post, email or fax it to library.
    • Requested articles will be posted to the member within 3 working days.
  • Personal Research Assistance
    • Members can request assistance with literature searches and resource lists for both research and direct work.
    • Information will be made available to members in both print and electronic formats of the range of resources available through the library.
