Barnardos Afterschool Service
Description of Service:
Barnardos Limerick South run an afterschool service 4 afternoons per week during school term where children are supported with homework and given a nutritious meal. The children also get the opportunity to interact with their peers through activities/games.

Volunteers Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support with homework
- Preparing activities for children
- Interact and engage with children during the delivery of the afterschool service.
- Serving food to children
- Clean and tidy the preparation area after preparation has been completed
- Clear away / wash up the cutlery, crockery etc. after the children are finished their meal/activities
Training and Support Plan:
- Volunteers will be provided with an induction to the service and building and guided through tasks
- Training needs will be supported as they arise
- Supervised by Project Coordinator / Project Staff
Time Commitment:
- 2pm to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday (September to June, excluding school holidays)
- Volunteer required to volunteer at least one, ideally 2 x afternoons per week.
