What is a parent and toddler group?
Barnardos parent and toddler groups are weekly groups for parents and their children between the ages of birth and 5 years. Each parent and toddler group is:
- child-centred
- provides play experiences for children in line with their age and stage of development
- promotes positive parent-child interactions
- provides parents with information on how to support their child’s development
Each group takes place in a safe, stimulating and child-friendly environment.
Who can attend?
All parents in the area with a child between birth and 5 years of age can attend a parent and toddler group once there is a place available.

Barnardos parent and toddler groups take place in both Barnardos projects and in community venues.
