Barnardos Birth History Service are pleased to announce a support group for mothers who had their child relinquished at birth to adoption or boarding out.
The purpose of the group is to provide a safe space for birthmothers to meet others and avail of support. The group will be a confidential space for birthmothers to share their experiences with others who may have similar experiences.
Topics which may be explored within the group will include:
- Parting with a child for adoption
- How this experience has affected the mother’s life
- Searching for or being contacted by an adopted son or daughter
- Outcomes of search
- Relationships after reunion
