Help even more children and families in need without donating an extra cent! If you have kindly given to Barnardos in the last four years, taking just a moment of your time now to complete a tax form could allow us to increase your donation by 45%.
Each year we send a tax relief form to everyone who has donated at least €250. Please watch out for our next mailing coming through your letter box in August 2018 – it will contain the relevant tax form, guidance on completing the form, and a freepost envelope to send it back.
If you don’t receive anything in the post and think we may be able to claim the relief on your donations, please follow the steps below:
The Government-approved tax back scheme allows charities like Barnardos to claim 44.9% in tax back on donations totalling €250 or more, at no cost to you. All you need to do is sign and return a CHY3 form so we can claim the tax back from the Revenue Commissioners.
It doesn’t matter if you’re PAYE or self-assessed. Since 2013, self-assessed tax payers can no longer claim tax back on charitable donations – only the charity can make this claim from Revenue.
The form is valid for 5 years (unless you chose to cancel it), which helps lower our admin costs – allowing for greater impact in the work we do with vulnerable children and families.
In order for us to claim the tax back on your donations you must have:
If in doubt please get in touch and we can let you know if your donation qualifies.
