Barnardos is Ireland’s largest children’s charity working with children and families throughout Ireland.

Barnardos shops sell excellent quality clothing, footwear, household and collectable items to suit every taste and budget.

Barnardos Shop location:

• Barnardos Shop, Kilbarrack Shopping Centre, Kilbarrack, Dublin 5

Outline of Volunteers Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Customer Service
• Cash handling
• Steaming clothes, pricing and tagging / Sorting through donations
• Keeping the shop floor and back-room facilities neat and tidy

Volunteer Specification:

• Approachable and friendly
• Experience in retail an advantage, but not essential
• Trustworthy
• Flexible approach essential
• A team player

Training and Support Plan:

• Training provided to include health and safety procedures, stock preparation, general shop duties

Supervised by and reports to the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager.

Time Commitment:

• Shop is open Monday to Saturday 9:30am to 5:30pm
• Ideally looking for volunteers to commit to 2 days per week
• Minimum commitment of 6 months
