Barnardos Ambassador Joy Neville spoke at the launch: “It is such a pleasure to be here today with Barnardos calling on fellow Limerick locals to support their National Collection Day 2019. Barnardos is a cornerstone of support for children and families in communities across Limerick city and county, providing a safe space for the most vulnerable amongst us. Stepping out to support them on September 13th means you will be helping to provide services for children in your own locality, from afterschool and breakfast clubs to supporting parents in the home. Giving your time means the children in communities in Limerick will benefit so I urge the people of Limerick to step out and join Barnardos as a volunteer this September.”

Barnardos CEO Suzanne Connolly said: “Barnardos National Collection Day is always a very special day for us, not least because we see the mammoth support we have in communities across the country. Each year the people of Limerick have rallied and stepped out to support the children and families we work with across the county, with many volunteers returning time and again to enjoy the feel-good factor that volunteering can bring. Each and every volunteer has made a difference, and can continue to do so by joining us again on September 13th. We’re also so grateful to our sponsor, Dell Technologies, who have supported us tirelessly ensuring the success of our National Collection day grows year on year. Join us on September 13th and help provide a brighter future for children in communities throughout Limerick www.barnardos.ie/buckets
