Programme aims:To: Provide participants with an opportunity to update information on drugs and their effects. Explore attitudes and decisions related to substance misuse. Develop a family focused drug prevention strategy.
Resources used:The CAD Family Focus Programme materials incorporating John Sharry’s Nine Steps for Getting Along with Teenagers and the Search Institutes Assets Approach. The drug related material in the course is from a broad cross section of professionals working in the sector including our principal mentor Dr. Des Corrigan, Government and EU Drugs Consultant.

Experience:Over 30 years working in the Drug Prevention Sector with Community Awareness of Drugs.

Booking the Programme

How do I book a place on the programme?Parents express an interest in attneding, usually with a Home School Liaison person.
Total cost incl. materials:In the vast majority of cases there is no cost to the participant as it is sponsored by the school or community. Rarely parents may be asked for €20 – €25 per head for six sessions.
